F12th September 2003 At The Raven St.Helens
Review from http://www.nwam.co.uk
"From the moment Private Universe started playing I was hooked. It is always good to hear a new band play, especially when they are talented. I had only heard some WMA's and MP3's of Private Universe a few days previously when I came across their website and decided I'd go along to the gig as it was in my home town. The band does a great mix of Rock, Alternative and Punk. After the first song that was rather furious the banded settled down to a slower song in their set, Wall Flower Girl. I had heard the acoustic version of this and it transferred over well to a live performance. Being one of the slower songs of the night it provided a relaxed atmosphere for the band and the audience to settle in to. The pace was soon picked up again with Life On The Road and Cold Turkey. The rest of the set was solid and a good cover of Sweet Dreams by Marilyn Manson to finish up really got a bit more enthusiasm out of the crowd. As the guys finished everyone wanted more and luckily got an encore. Reznorisation was a fantastic song for the encore, and the best song of the night. A fast paced song with very punchy lyrics to put together a nice punk finish to the night. I'm surprised the song was left out of the initial set because it would have been a great song to start or end with. I already know I'll be along to more Private Universe gigs."
